Mills Design topped the podium at the North Sound Maxi Regatta, with our Wally 100 V overtaking our 72′ Balthasar in the overall standings with a win in the final race. After her victory in the 100’ Class at the St. Barths Bucket V stepped up a gear to put together a dominant performance in the beautiful waters off Virgin Gorda.

Our Maxi 72 Balthasar of Filip and Louis Balcaen excelled in the opening days of the event, leading overall and enjoying a win in the Tripleheaded Rig Sunday challenge, but in the challenging conditions of the final Coastal Race V put together a flawless performance to take the trophy. V tactician Ken Read felt “We had our work cut out today to pull this off… today was our best day. It doesn’t get any better!” North Sails President Read has shaped the V campaign from its inception, developing every facet of the program to deliver results with a great team ethos.

The newest and most exotic event on the Maxi circuit, the North Sound Maxi Regatta attracted the most competitive Maxi racers for a glamourous finale to their Caribbean season before returning to Europe to begin the Mediterranean circuit.
