This proposal offers in a single hull shape a higher performance configuration for a top end race team and a better rated production solution. The custom race configuration combines Grand Prix honeycomb core prepreg construction with a deep bulb keel and tall rig to achieve the lightest displacement for a given RM, following the PCT 45 Concubine model. The better rated production configuration uses foam cored wet preg layup with a fin keel and smaller rig and more displacement to arrive at a lower IRC rating. In either configuration a focus on offshore use would suggest twin rudders. The ability for a single hull shape to successfully deliver two disparate configurations makes it naturally appealing for a niche builder to maximise their investment in tooling in a size range dominated either by custom boats or small run semi-production projects.
